Why has your smartphone’s calling screen changed and how to fix it?
If you have noticed that your calling screen has suddenly changed, don’t worry — it happened because of the Google Phone App update.
Why did this happen?
The Phone/Dialer app in Android gets updated via the Play Store. With updates, Google changes the UI and features, which makes your calling screen look new.
Solution – ‘calling screen’
If you want the old calling interface back, you can Uninstall updates of the Phone App.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Press and hold the Phone App icon → Tap on App info.
- Tap on the three dots (⋮) in the top right corner.
- Select Uninstall updates.
- Your calling screen will now return to the old design.
Important Notes
- Uninstalling updates will remove the new UI, but also some security fixes.
- To prevent automatic updates, turn off Auto-update in Google Play Store.
